YOUR PET'S HEALTH & WELFARE

Whilst your pet is in my care, its health & welfare is my primary concern. It will only ever be groomed according to its tolerance of the process. If your pet is fearful of any of the  procedures employed in pet grooming, a workaround or alternative will be employed. Occasionally during grooming a pre-existing medical condition may be discovered which you may not have been aware of. I will notify you of this so that you can seek veterinary advice. Although extremely unlikely, accidents can happen during grooming. In the event of an  incident or serious  medical issue arising during your pet's groom you  authorise me to seek emergency veterinary treatment.

At Wags to Washes, we keep detailed client records to help provide a service tailored to you  & your pet/s. Please advise me of any changes so that I can update your pet's record. All your data is confidential. It will not be disclosed to or shared with any 3rd party.

TIME KEEPING

Please be punctual. I work by appointment only. The  appointment slot allocated for  your pet's groom has been booked at your request exclusively. I do not double book appointments; a no-show is lost income. I also offer a free Appointment reminder; by text, email or phone. Just tell me your preference.  Most grooms take between 1.5 - 3 hours or more depending on the size and temperament of the dog, and its coat condition. I will either give you a pre-arranged time for collection, or  will telephone you when your dog is ready. Please phone  me if you are running late. I  understand that from time to time unforeseen circumstances may arise. However, collection later than 20 minutes after the scheduled time will incur a dog sitting fee.

CANCELLING YOUR DOG’S APPOINTMENT

A 24-hour cancellation notice is required for all appointments.  If Wags to Washes does not receive minimum 24-hour notice, a re-booking fee will be applied. (Family emergencies will be considered).

NEGLECTED & MATTED COATS

In the event that your pet's coat needs to be clipped down to release it from matting or coat neglect, Wags to Washes will not be  liable for any post-grooming effects of this procedure, which is not without risk, the owner should be aware that irritation may occur from the shaving process, as well as  uncovering nicks, scabs, cuts, fungal & bacterial issues, and pre-existing irritation. A clip down consumes  significantly more time, labour,  product & tool/equipment wear-&-tear than a routine trim done as part of a grooming session, so will be charged extra.

AGGRESSIVE & POORLY SOCIALISED DOGS

Wags to Washes reserves the right to refuse to groom any pet for the safety of the groomer and the dog. A  muzzle may be used, or services discontinued or refused for the well being of your pet, and the groomer. Owner agrees to inform prior to grooming if their dog has ever bitten or shown aggression at any time. Failure to disclose said information may result in refusal of further services and an additional fee.  In  conjunction with the Dangerous dogs act, the owner understands that they will be held liable for all bites/injuries caused by their dog.

PHOTOGRAPHS

Your pet may be photographed before, during or after its groom. Photographs may be used on the Wags to Washes website or other printed materials.
